I am a Ph.D. graduate in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Tennessee. I now am an Assistant Professor of Biology and freelance data journalist. One personal mission of mine is to make science and scientific advances more mainstream so the public is not intimidated and can make better sense of the world around them. Even though I don’t have the time to add many new pieces to this site, I still consider it a great accomplishment.
My inspiration for this mission is my five year old daughter. I see the budding scientist in her by the questions she asks and the curiosity in her eyes. Making sure that curiosity is encouraged is my first priority.
Everything associated with this blog (illustrations, opinions, posts, etc.) are my own and are not associated with any institution.
